Most of the time, if you have nothing good to say...i believe it would always be better to shut up or keep the thoughts to yourself. However, this is not the case for a UCLA student aka the dumb bimbo blonde of an abomination known as alexander wallace. She had to open her not so smart mouth and had the audacity to post her racist rant video on youtube. People know in this day and age, you do not piss off the asian population which accounts for 60% of the world's population....one spit from every asian in the world is enough to drown a person a thousand times over...Too bad for Alexander, she didn't know better and had to post this video that gives a whole new meaning to racism....she will insult your mom, dad, brothers, sisters, grandparents and even your 祖宗十八代 if given the chance. Words do not have the power to describe how insulted i felt as an asian after watching the video....watch it yourself.....

Dumb twat....wad in the world is she doing in the library anyways....studying non the less.....and she even used the word 'epiphany' which i doubt she even knows the meaning off.....Anyways, she got wad she deserved and is an EX-UCLA student now....and i bet she has to move somewhere deserted, change her name and have plastic surgery done to avoid the wrath of the entire asian population. People say one thing and they mean another....they hide behind their smiling facades never showing their true colors. Every single action you do will be judged...what gives them the right to judge me anyways???...i will be judged when the time comes....but not by you.....

Life is too short to waste it trying to please all the people around me...i shall live it as i see fit and i shall charge forward head on! Some may see it as immature but i dun wan to live a life full of regrets and what could have beens....that is a miserable existence....So if i happen to piss anybody off while living my life....sorry....and F*ck you very much! Bakpoh Movie Review: The Fighter

Finally found the time to watch The Fighter this weekend. I wasn't really expecting much right from the start because some friends did say that the movie was quite boring. Luckily, they were wrong....this movie is hands down one of the best movies i have seen this year...it is that damn good...This totally deserves the Oscar wins. From the very beginning of the movie, i was gripped and could not stop watching...it is that damn good...

The Plot

The Fighter tells the story if Micky 'Irish' Ward, when he was in his early years being trained by his brother before eventually becoming pro. Micky has to face countless trials and tribulations before finally achieving his dream as a professional boxer. Along the way, Micky comes to terms with what he really wants for himself and emerges from the shadow of his brother's earlier success to make a name for himself.

My Thoughts

Through the life of Micky Ward, The Fighter inspires all of us to succeed even when all odds are against us. After watching the movie, I felt that I was given and intimate look at the life of a boxer. Christian Bale once again shines as the troubled crack addict brother of boxer Micky Ward. He really brings the Dicky character to life and makes the audience both hate and like him at the same time. Mark Wahlberg also does sufficiently well as the main protagonist of the story and the audience will be rooting for him as he struggles with his boxing career and a very very dysfunctional family. All the other supporting casts were great and they really helped to make the movie that much more intense. I especially liked Micky's trainwreck of a mother who pretty much brought most of the havoc into Micky's already struggling career. The well choreographed fights in the movie also helped to make the movie that much more exciting and kept the tempo up. All in all, The Fighter is an awesome movie. Intense, inspirational and also touching. Catch it if you have the chance!

The Pros

Great casts and colorful characters. Wonderfully choreographed fight scenes. Film-making at its very best.

The Cons

I'd say I can't think of one at this point of time. The movie is that damn good!

Bakpoh Movie Review: Rango

Last week I had the chance to catch Rango before going for a friend's wedding and here is the review. Wad is Rango you might ask? Rango is the latest animated flick to hit the silverscreen and it stars non other than the very very talented Johnny Depp. The trailer looked OK and was somewhat funny. I entered the cinema without much expectation and I came out pleasantly surprised after movie. It was actually quite good.

The Plot

In short, Rango is about this pet chameleon that ends up stranded in the desert after an accident. He winds up in a town called 'Dirt' and coincidentally becomes the town's sheriff. From there, his adventure of self discovery takes flight...that's all I have to say for the movie's plot, don't want to spoil it for those who haven't had the chance to catch it.

My Thoughts

For an animated movie, Rango is pretty good but not exactly fantastic. The characters are very unique and not what we are commonly used to. Rather than designing characters that are cute and cuddly like most of the animated characters out there, the animators created characters that really have an edge to them, the villains in this movie are downright sinister and some might even call them ugly. There are quite alot of funny moments and I enjoyed every single one. Johnny Depp definitely brought much charm and character to the main character. You will be rooting for Rango as he gets tangled in all sorts of predicaments, one after another. The animation is flawless and smooth, and the pace of the movie is just about right. There is also enough action to keep the audience entertained. All in all, not a bad movie for the family.

The Pros

Besides the fact that Johnny Depp is in it, watch this movie for its trippy and unique story. Queer and comical characters also makes it that much more enjoyable. Animation is flawless too.

The Cons

For the cons, I don't think that kids below the age of 7 will enjoy this movie. The characters aren't cute enough and are unsuitable for kids in this age group. The storyline might also be a little bit too complex for them to comprehend.

A very well deserved 4/5 for this animated feature that dares to be different from the mainstream animated features. We need more movies like this to keep this genre interesting.

Receive a call from mum regarding a certain letter sent to my hometown courtesy of PDRM....kena polis SAMAN AGAIN! This will be the 3rd saman since i bought my car, less than a year to be exact! Suddenly felt the urge to revive my blog....and to kick off this momentous event...let's talk about a truckload of crap in human form better known as Rosmah....

Tsunami hits Japan....thousands of ppl perish from the wrath of mother nature....the world mourns the loss of the entire japanese nation.....a sad time for all of us. World nations band together to lend a helping hand to help get japan back on their feet. Malaysia wants to help too....wad do we do?...we let loose Rosmah(a human being with the special ability to think using her posterior and speak through her arsehole) to insult Japan, a nation reeling from their worst natural disaster to date. Pour more salt onto the open wound if you dont mind!

She just had to open her dumb mouth and start spewing bullshit like nobody's business. And this is the gist of wad our PM's wife with the IQ of 1 had to say.....

Been 3 bloody months since i last posted.....wad the hell......lack of motivation and inspiration i guess....couldn't be bothered to give a rat's ass bout it.

So what's new? Nothing much....uni life....how bloody interesting can it get? Screwed by my stupid exam schedules....5 subs in 6 days how to prepare...bloody mmu retards...can't do the job easily done by a primary school student. Thanks to them, i'm having countless sleepless nights. A mishmash of formulas and information banging around my brain everytime i shut my eyes....

And then my brain starts to wonder.....about the uncertain future....blurred images of what may or not happen....but mostly just a figment of my imagination....

Then i wonder some more......this time i'm visited by the silhouettes of the past....recalling all the decisions i've made that got me where i am now....if i get to turn back time.....would i have done anyth differently??? who the heck knows???

Finally my brain gives up and i drift ever slowly towards sleep...no such thing as sweet dreams....those were a thing of the past....and i wake up the next day with a freaking throbbing headache!!!

As my younger bro would say.....life could be worse...but it could be better!

Bakpoh Movie Review --> Bolt

This christmas eve, i managed to catch Bolt......it was almost be-awesome(watch the movie and you'll get wad i mean!). Quite a good movie by my standards....

As usual, some movie facts:

Movie Runtime: 96 minutes

Rating: PG (It's a cartoon)

The Plot:
The movie centers around Bolt, a canine movie star who actually believes he has superpowers. One day while filming his tv show, Bolt witnesses his owner, Penny get kidnapped by bad guys. Not knowing that the kidnapping was part of the filming process of the tv show, Bolt sets out to look for his owner. On the way, he teams up with scrawny alley cat and an over-enthusiastic hamster in a plastic ball. On their journey to find Penny....hilarity ensues.....

My Thoughts:
When Disney and Pixar collaborates, they make decent movies, and this is no exception. I have no idea why this movie made less money at the box office compared to Madagascar 2. Its much better story wise and also as funny as Madagascar 2.
By combining a delusional dog, a street-wise alley cat and an overwight hamster....you get bucket loads of fun and laughter. Rhino the hamster has got to be the nuttiest hamster to hit the big screens...the guy totally cracks me up. Besides all the fun and laughs, this movie also has a touching story to boot.....Animation and voice acting were also flawless by the way...

Therefore, i think it's the right time for a Christmas post......

Let's start off with some basic Christmas Facts:

This should give you a clue on wad the movie is about......

Went to the PC fair today and caught the movie since we had some free time on our hands(mostly i wanted to see the movie, sorry if u guys didn't enjoy it...)

First things first, the facts:

Title: The Day the Earth Stood Still

Directed by: Scott Derrickson(The Exorcism of Emily Rose)

Main Cast:
Keanu Reeves(The Matrix) as Klaatu
Jennifer Connely(Blood Diamond) as Helen Benson
Jaden Smith(Will Smith's son) as Jacob Benson

Movie Runtime: 103 minutes

Rating: PG 13(Not violent enough if u ask me....)

The Plot:

This movie is a remake of the 1951 sci-fi classic, The Day the Earth Stood Still. The movie starts off with a giant extra-terrestrial sphere landing amidst the city. An alien lifeform, Klaatu(Keanu Reeves) emerges from the sphere and the first human to make contact is Helen Benson(Jennifer Conelly).

Apparently, Klaatu is here to destroy the humans as it is deemed necessary for the earth's survival. It is now up to Helen to persuade Klaatu to change his mind and save the humans from extiction.........

My Thoughts:

An above average movie in my opinion but opinions will be divided. You either like it or you hate it. It's actually quite and enjoyable sci-fi movie for me though not as exhilirating as alien invasion movies such as Independence Day. The movie is not your typical alien invasion movies with epic battles between the humans and the aliens. It's more one sided to be honest(humans totally got pawned....). But it does make you think.....are we the ones killing earth? If so, can we change our ways in time? With global warming increasing at such an alarming rate, we just might kill earth and perish together with it.....only thing is, in the real world, there wont be aliens to give us a second chance.....

Klaatu and his shiny sphere........

Moving on, the acting is quite good, not great though. Keanu Reeves makes quite a good alien with his expressionless face. Some of u might disagree with me saying he acts like a log for the whole movie but give him a break.....aliens are supposed to be cold and expressionless. Jaden Smith's acting was also quite impressive.....he's got lots of potential. As with any 21st century movie, the CGI was nice too......

The bottom line: If you are looking for a movie to watch at the cinema this weekend, might as well watch this movie rather than some other cheesy teenage vampire love story movie such as Twilight....this is much more worth it!

MMU staff working attitude......

Finally done with the troublesome fundraising thingy..........all that work for so lil money.....i think i can make more money by gigolo-ing myself out for 4 days. But then again, i doubt that there are ppl who would pay me to sleep with them.......really sad fact......haha....

Anyways, moving on, this post is dedicated to the hardworking to the "hardworking staff" of MMU who literally sacrifice their lives for the well-being of all MMU students. And we all know that is a BIG FAT FUCKING LIE! MMU staff hardworking(lecturers not included)? Pah! A bunch of lazy fucked-up retards they are, hardworking they certainly are not. Their sole purpose is to make the life of us university students plain miserable. How much time have i spent queuing up at the bank or waiting to be served by the people at the finance unit thanks to their i couldn't care less so i just sit around and do nothing attitude? I've totally lost count......and i've practically given up on getting pissed at them as it's just not bloody worth it.

An incident the other day further shows how "hardworking" these "heroes" of MMU are. In the mentioned incident, i was with my friend, Mr.GOD, when his car got summoned by the security division for parking at the designated staff parking area. Not his fault actually, he only parked there because a security officer said that he can park there. Mana tau, another security officer comes along later and summons him for parking the car there. Even after explaining the situation to the smartass security officer, he still insisted on giving him the summon. This whole stupid incident happened because of their incompetence and Mr.GOD ended up being the one victimized. There was no way in hell that we were going to pay the summon. So we headed to the security division to give them a piece of our mind. But when we got into the office......this is wad we saw................

The clock in the office clearly shows 4.47 pm........

But wad is this???? To the left............

And to the right.....no one to be seen......

I'm positively sure that the closing time for the offices at MMU is 5pm so where have all the staff gone? I guess they sat around for the whole day doing nothing.....somehow got bored.....packed their bags and left.....No wonder lar, year after year we hear that MMU failed to make a profit and lost money. If you employed staff like these, for sure you cannot make profit lar....its a miracle that u don't just gulung tikar and go bankrupt.......

So to all u highers ups who manage MMU and stuff: next time hire competent people who actually do work not some dumbasses who sit around for the whole day goyang kaki. And don't come up with stupid fees such as IT fees or Library Fees so that you can hire those imbecilic deep shits in the office.....you'd be better off hiring monkeys because bananas are much cheaper.....

As my high school teacher Mr. Ang would say: " Bagaimana Malaysia mau maju?"

Awesome Terminator Salvation Flash Poster!

One of the most kickass movie i'm looking forward to next summer has got to be Terminator Salvation. This here is the poster for Comic Con 2008, damn badass i'd say. I sincerely hope they don't screw this one up.

I was even more convinced of the kickass-ness(is that even a word?) of this movie with the release of the flash poster!

Just for the heck of it, i included the teaser trailer too.....its kinda sketchy with random flashing images but since its just a teaser, i guess its ok. A much cooler trailer will be released in the coming months i guess.....Oh, Christian Bale(The Dark Knight) is in this movie too, so he pretty much guarantees that the movie won't suck big time.

More than a week ago i had the chance to catch Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa in the theaters. And boy did i enjoy it!

First off, let's start with the movie facts:

Title: Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa

Directed by: Eric Darnell & Tom Mcgrath(Same guys who directed Madagascar)

Main Cast:
Ben Stiller(Night At The Museum) as Alex the lion
Chris Rock(Very funny comedian) as Marty the zebra
David Schwimmer(Friends) as Melman the giraffe
Jada Pinkett Smith(Will Smith's wife) as Gloria the hippo

Movie Runtime: 89 minutes

Rating: PG or U in Malaysia(Everyone can watch!)

The Plot:

The movie picks up where the last one left off. The whole gang, Alex, Marty, Melman and Gloria, who are stuck in Madagascar decides to return to New York using an old crashed plane that the penguins repaired. Halfway during the journey, things start to go wrong and they end up crashing in Africa of all places. In Africa, Marty, Melman and Gloria encounters their own species for the first time whereas Alex gets reunited with his parents. Everyone enjoys Africa at first but there seems to be trouble brewing......and from there the adventure takes off....(i'm not revealing anymore...it'll spoil it for those who haven't watched)

My thoughts:

A great movie for the whole family! Very very hilarious! Started laughing the moment the movie started and by the time i left the theater, there was still a smile on my face. Kids will definitely enjoy this movie and adults will also love it as the jokes are really funny and not too childish.

With the stellar cast of Ben Stiller and Chris Rock, the characters are really brought to life. David Schwimmer as Melman was also damn hilarious. Jada as Gloria the hippo was also superb. And who can forget the nutty King Julien and Maurice(the goofy lemurs). The animation was also spot on. You've really got to give credit to the scriptwriters for coming up with such wacky characters. Another reason for u to catch this movie is that u get to see Alex and the gang when they were kids, just too adorable for words!

The guys above are funny as hell but my favourite characters from the movie would have to be the penguins. They totally crack me up! I still cannot forget the scene where they managed to hijack a jeep from a group of tourist with military precision. Side splittingly funny.

The bottom line: To those of u who haven't watched it, what are u waiting for? Grab a movie ticket, some popcorn and prepare for a great laughfest.

Bakpoh Rating: An amazing 9 out of 10(The only reason i didn't give it a perfect 10 was because the movie was quite short. And also some parts of the story bear resemblance to The Lion King.)

A lecturer of mine quoted today "education is the manifestation of perfection already in man".

Deep.....but is dat really true?
I've been manifesting this so called "perfection" that apparently already exists in me for many years already, since i was born to be precise.....perfection is still no where to be seen....

Maybe i did all da manifesting wrong....or maybe god left out the perfection part when he created me......

Or.........my lecturer is a BIG FAT LIAR!!!!!(I'd put my bet on this one.......haha)

P/S: If my lecturer in question happens to read this blog, i didn't mean that last part....i was kidding.....

Bakpoh Food & Drinks Review: Lao Niang Bakuteh

The other day, on the way from LCCT to my place in Melaka, i happen to catch a glimpse of this shop that recently opened in Bukit Beruang, at the row of shops in front of University Green Apartment. The shop i mentioned happens to sell Bakuteh and is called "Lao Niang Bakuteh". From the outside, just by looking at the signboard, the shop looks quite promising. Not dat i wan to judge a book by it's cover, just dat it kinda gave me a good impression from the outside while i was passing by.

Being quite a fan of bakuteh, ah wee and I visited the place after one of our tennis sessions. Upon reaching there, we were famished so we ordered some food straightaway. Quite irritated that they didn't have a menu, had nothing to refer to when ordering(menu with pictures would be nice) but i guess the food and drink choices are quite limited. From my observation, the place was your typical run of the mill coffee shop. Just table and chairs arranged for people to have their meals, no interior design what so ever. At least the place can be considered clean.....

Moving on then, the first to arrive was our drinks. We both ordered chrysanthemum tea because there weren't many choices. It was the worst chrysanthemum tea i have tasted in ages. It was so mild and bland that u can barely taste the chrysanthemum, tasted more like plain water with a sourish taste to me.

I hoped that the food might taste better compared to the drinks. And boy was i wrong! The food was complete rubbish, disgrace of a bakuteh.....total crap. Here are some pics taken using ah wee's camera.

Sorry bout the pics, i forgot to take the photos when the food arrived. When i realised, this was what was left. Don't get me wrong, the quite empty bowl in the food doesn't mean that the food was nice, we were just hungry.

The bakuteh soup didn't have oomph at all. You cannot taste the herbs and spices of bakuteh and the cook put in too much pepper. What you get is something which resembles black pepper soup than bakuteh. Next was the meat, some of the meat was jaw-numbingly chewy. A considerable amount of effort is required before the meat can be swallowed. They could've also stewed the meat for a longer period of time to make it more tender and tasty. Instead, the meat was just bland and rubbery. My mum can make way better bakuteh....

Then it was time to foot the bill, and boy was i shocked. For 2 person, drinks included it cost us RM20. Wad the fuck? Ni lao niang eh! you bloody expect us to pay so much for that minute portion of a sorry excuse for a bakuteh???? Horrible food plus cut throat prices! No way am i visiting this stoopid shop again! Fyi, we had to go for another round at the hawker center to fill our stomachs....

Bakpoh Rating: A measly 1 out of 5

Conclusion:
Dun ever visit this place. Lousy drinks and crappy food with unreasonable prices to boot! Most of the things that can go wrong with a food establishment, this place has it. Even if u have the money to spare, don't! Give me the money so i can spend it for u or just donate it to charity.

Daft Japanese Invention:

During my routine net surfing today, i came across this. The latest product of japanese ingenuity(wasted ingenuity if u ask me).
Ladies and gentleman, i present you the 'Dazzling Banana'.

Wad in god's green earth is that? Apparently this thinga-majig simulates the action of peeling banana, with a speaker to boot for enhancing the experience. The bloody thing is not even edible. Wad kind of numbnut deranged psycho would want to spend hard earned money on something like dat? If i wanted the feeling of peeling a banana, i'd peel a banana, cheap and healthy too.

This once again goes to show us that japanese inventors have too much time and money on their hands. The japanese did come up with many useful inventions(japanese porn?....haha...jk...) but invention like these really baffles the mind. This is a message to japanese inventors out there : please use ur precious time and money to invent something beneficial to us humans.....maybe something along the lines of a cure for AIDS?

Scratched my favouritest, preciousest and dearestest [K]Blade 98.....crap! Was playing tennis this afternoon when i accidentally crashed my racket into my casio wrist watch while doing a follow through. How clumsy of me....tulan....crap....

I thought shit la this time, sure watch crack d. Mana tau watch ok, no scratch. Racket hailat pula. Diao!

I am proud to present you Bakpoh.blogspot.com. After many moons finally my blog is ready. It didn't take much time to set up my blog but it sure as hell took me ages to start blogging. I really couldnt be bothered to start blogging as i find it quite troublesome to frequently update blogs. Being a typical male, i am a natural born pig and thus prefer eating, sleeping and lazing around. However, i happen to be quite free this trimester(taking 1 subject only) so what the heck, might as well blog wif my free time.

Moving on, why bakpoh.blogspot.com? Well, one of my nicks dat frens used to call me was 'hu bak poh' so 'bakpoh' is a short form of dat nick. Souds kinda catchy too. Besides, who can resist delicious bak poh/bak gua(barbecued pork slices)? By the way, i just want to clarify that my blog has nothing much to do with bak gua so its perfectly halal.....

I'll be posting my personal thoughts and views of the world as i see it, through my unique point of view. Also look forward to movie reviews, random thoughts and whatever the heck i feel like blogging about. Ciao for now. Post #2 coming soon.
